My primary service interests have been in the arts. That was the motivation for the Arts and Cultural Administration program. I had been teaching in a school of business and working with arts organizations that were struggling to adjust to a digital environment and struggling to be a sustainable asset for the community.

In the course of my years I have served on the board of the Rhode Island Historical Society, continue as a honorary board member of the Bristol Art Museum, and currently serve as a board member for IMC/NAB, an internationally renowned contemporary ballet company in Newport, RI

Winter 21 Book Club
Last Town On Earth, Thomas Mullen

This is a fun get together to read a novel focused on the pandemic of 1918. It is set in the forested West, outside Seattle, in a logging town that has been established as more a worker's utopia to contrast with the rapacious capitalism of logging. The dual stories - respect for workers - and protection from the disease compliment and complicate the story.
